So I wanted to post this a while ago, but for some reasons I never got to it. I’ve been very busy lately. First we got all the holidays which didn’t leave me with much spare time. Next, I also got sick for a while so every moment where I wasn’t working, I was laying in the sofa or in bed to rest. Also there are some big changes coming up for me. Both in my personal as in my working life. I’m not going to tell you more about it because it’s all still realy vague .
Anyway, about a month ago, I went to the Ice Sculptures in Bruges with my boyfriend. The Ice Sculptures are there every year, each year with another theme. Last year it was ‘Frozen’ (yes, from the Disney movie!) but we never got to go. This year it was ‘The Hobbit’. We finally got to go and after that, we went to the cinema en watched to last part of the Hobbit trilogy.
So here are some pictures I’ve been wanting to show you guys for over a month. Enjoy!!
And before I forget: I hope you had lovely holidays with your family and friends. And I wish you all the best for 2015!
A few blogposts ago I promised you to show you my Christmas cards for this year. I’ve already made them months ago, but I’m finally showing them to you. I’m a true Christmaslover I must say. That may be one of the reasons why I’ve got my cards ready for a while.
It’s very simple to make them. You just cut circles out of coloring paper or magazines or whatever you find. To make it easier you can use a paper puncher.
Next, you glue them on to your card, making the shape of a Christmas tree. You can finish it of with whatever you want, I used bow stickers and I absolutely love the result.
Now tell me, do you prefer to make or buy your Christmas cards? Let me know!
Hi everyone !
So I saw this idea on welke.nl for a nice fall wreath. I liked it so much, that I decided to make one myself, inspired by this picture.
This is what it turned out to be:
It’s really easy to make. This is what you’ll need:
- wire (I used textile yarn)
- a styrofoam wreath
- glue (I used a hot glue gun)
I simply started by winding the textile yarn around the styrofoam wreath. On the back, I secured them with some pins to make sure they stay in place.
Next I cut out diamond shapes form the felt. I drew them myself by using a ruler, but you can also use a pattern to do that. I then glued the felt onto the wreath.
Next I took my wool and started winding around the wreath. To secure them, I again used some pins on the back.
To finish it off, I cut out a felt owl and glued it on. You can also use flowers or butterflies or whatever you want.
So that was it! I hope you liked it. Let me know what you think and if you ever make one yourself, show me! If you want to make other (fall)wreaths, here’s a link of some inspiration I found: http://www.bystephanielynn.com/2012/10/fifty-fall-wreath-ideas-inspiration-for-the-entire-autumn-season.html
Time for a third part of the decorating with flowers – series. This time, it’s another fall-piece I made with beautiful roses in fall-colors. I just took a piece of wood, put a flower arrangement that I made on it (using roses and ivy) and finished it off with some pinecones, chestnuts and a branch. And this what it turned out!
It’s really autumny and it fits every interior. So what do you think of it?
I was watching some youtube videos (something I absolutely love doing) and I came up with the idea of making a ‘top three youtubers collab videos’. At the moment, some of my favorite youtubers are Zoella, Alfie, Marcus Butler, Tyler Oakley and Niomi Smart.
Lately I’m really loving the challenge-videos, just because, you know, they’re really funny. So, here’s what my (current) top three is:
- Myler (Marcus and Tyler) are having a great time singing songs with helium. You really have to check the background because sometimes you think it’s just Marcus singing, and then all of a sudden, you can see Tyler in the background, twerking around. Loving it.
- The Disney Challenge with Zoella and Tyler. Really simple: I love Zoella. I’m literally watching all of her videos. I absolutely love Tyler (especially in collabs) and I truly love Disney! There’s no better combination than this I’d say.
By the way, they also decided to do a rematch. If you loved the first video, you’ll really love the second!.
- Last but not least: Marcus and Zoella accent challenge. I really like accent-videos. It’s funny how people interpret the ‘sounds’ of different languages. Especially when they try to do Dutch 😉
So I hope you liked this post (I’m feeling like a youtuber saying this). You should definitely check out these videos and let me know what your favorites are!
I’m back with part two of decorating with flowers. Again, this was inspired by the decoration course I took. We made this cute flower arrangement with hydrangeas and this is the result:
So proud of it! Now, it’s been a few weeks since I made it, so the colors have really changed by now. They’re not as bright anymore. I found it perfect for fall, with the changed colors. So I decided to change it up a bit and make it more ‘fall’. Here’s what I made of it:
I don’t know which one I prefer. The original one was really nice with the bright pink and red. But this one I like too, because it’s so seasonal and cosy. Which one do you prefer? Tell me in the comments!
See you next time!
So I don’t know if I’ve told you this, but since this month I’m joining a decoration-course along with my sister. The first lesson was mostly introduction, but we also made some cute vases with balloons. The principle is simple:
1. Take a balloon (preferbly metallic and strong) in a pretty color.
2. Fill the balloon with sand (or whatever you want). You can do this easily by filling an empty waterbottle (1/2 liter). Blow up the balloon, put the ‘mouth’ of the balloon on top of your bottle, and poor the sand in. Then carefully let the air out of the balloon.
3. Put a pipette in the balloon and you can put whatever flower you want in it. Here is my result (sorry for the bad quality. I forgot to make a picture of it but then remembered I had one on my instagram, but it was taking with my phone):
Now everyone who’s coming to our house, are noticing them and are complementing on them. It’s so easy, but it can really bring color to the room.
With this project, I told you guys step by step how to make it. With the other classes, I’m not going to do that. It’s out of respect for our lovely teacher. I will, however, show you guys what I made! It can be some nice inspiration.
Next time, I will show you the next flower-project we made. It’s a cute flower arrangement with hydrangeas. So excited to show it to you guys!
So see you next time!
