Shoplog Scotland !

Hi !

I’ promised to make a shoplog about Scotland, so here it is! It took me a bit longer than I planned, because one of the clothing pieces was in laundry 😉

It’s not that I went shopping that much, but I really love what I bought, so I don’t want to keep it from you guys.

I went to Primark twice; once in Inverness and once in Edinburgh. When I was in Inverness, I bought these two lovely blouses for 10£ each (which is about €12 or 13):

Primark - 10 pond Primark - 10pond

I also saw a dress I really liked. But when I saw it hanging there, I thought it was way too short to were as a dress but also way too long to were as a blouse. When we went to Edinburgh, I saw the dress again and fell in love with it for the second time. This time, my sister was with me and she convinced me to try it on. So I did and I was sure: this dress is going home with me! 😉 So I bought it for 13£, which is about €16.

Two years ago, when I was in Northern England, I bought I really nice wallet. After two years, I decided it was time for a new one and where better to buy it than in Scotland. So I was looking at all the wallets that came by and found this amazing one in Accessorize for 15£ (about €18 or 19). The lady behind the desk told me she really loved the color and I admitted that I also loved the color and that it was the main reason for buying this wallet. So here it is:

I didn’t really buy a souvenir that really screams ‘Scotland’, except for the last minute extra birthdaypresent (‘extra’, because I already bought him ‘Kubb’, a fun, Swedish outdoor game. Look it up if you don’t know it yet!) for my boyfriend: a little wooden Highland cow with ‘I love Scotland’ written on it. Quite expensive for being so small and simple, but very lovely.

So, this was my shoplog from Scotland! I didn’t buy extremely much, but then again: I wasn’t there to shop, but to explore the country ;). Hope you enjoyed reading this and please let me know in the comments if you like Primark. For me it was the first time I went to a Primark and I liked it.

Hi there!

I’m back in Belgium since a few days! Back from my trip to Scotland, which was amazing: lovely views, lovely company, lovely Scottish people, lovely culture.. and very nice food! Also, we were quite lucky with the weather I’d say. Even though the weather was better the week before we arrived, we still couldn’t complain. With an average of 20°C and a few rainy moments once in a while, we were able to walk around without any jackets on most of the time. Ofcourse, it’s Scotland: you can’t expect 30°C and sunshine all day, can you.

Since we were away for about 16 days, I’m not going to tell everything, but I will show you some highlights of our trip to Scotland.

My favorite day was the day we went to Skye. We were lucky to have a beautiful day with open skies, so we could see the amazing nature around us. The main reason you go to Skye is for the nature, since there’s not much more than that. My sister and I did our best to take pictures of it, but you can never get it on camera as it is in real life: it’s breathtaking. Here are some pictures of it, but you should really go and see for yourself to really have an idea of the beauty.

On that day, it was also my boyfriend his birthday: he became 23 years! *happy dance* That’s worth mentioning I think 😉 Also a highlight of the trip!

Another highlight for me was the day we went to a Safari Parc in Blair Drummond. Okay, it’s not something you have to go to Scotland for, but since you’re there, it’s fun to do. We saw many animals and I felt like a little kid again! I’ve always liked animals – as long as they don’t come to close to me.
So here are some pictures of that day (the chimp was staring at us really mad as if we were some creeps, all watching at him. Well, actually, we were..):

A last highlight I want to share with you is the sunset on the boat during the way back home. We – my boyfriend and I – were standing on the deck, watching the sun go down into the water. It was zo peaceful and beautiful! I know, it’s also a cliché, but it was a really special experience. Two years ago, when we returned from our trip to Northern England, we also watched the sunset together. But for some reason, this time was even more special.

So, that was it about my trip to Scotland. Hope you enjoyed this blog and if you’re thinking about going to Scotland, I’d say: just do it! 😉

Did you ever go to Scotland? And what was your highlight?

Sand Sculpture Festival Ostend.

Sand Sculpture Festival Ostend.

Yesterday I went to Ostend, to the Sand Sculpture Festival. Every year in july and august, the Festival opens with a new theme (mostly Disney-related). This year the theme was ‘Disneyland Paris’. It’s been many years since I wanted to go but for some reason I never got there. Although, a few years ago (well, actually more like 10 years ago or something) I did go to the Sand Sculpture Festival. The theme then was dinosaurs. Sadly I can’t remember much of it. Anyway, I really wanted to show you guys some pictures of the Festival since it’s so amazing! I have no idea how they do it: to make such beautiful sculptures out of sand. Ofcourse, it’s not normal sand. They put something in it (I have no idea what) so it would last. But still, you have to be a real artist to make something like that! I really enjoyed it.

If you want to know more about the Sand Sculpture Festival, here is the link:

I hope you enjoyed the photos! Also, do you like Disney? Or would you prefer another theme. Let me know in the comments!

Apologies, update & big news !

Hi there!

First off, I want to apologize. It’s been over a year since I blogged and there are many reasons for that.
It’s been a very busy year for me. First, I had my internship in Ypres where I had to word six out of seven days from 8.30 a.m. till 6 p.m. After that, I still had a lot of schoolwork to do. I hardly had any me-time so there wasn’t any blog-time left. But, I had a great time in Ypres! Met some amazing people, had a great experience and learned a lot.

After the internship was over, I still had my thesis to do, which was about autism. Very interesting, but it took me a while to finish it. Anyhow, last monday (which is three days ago) I had to bring it forward, talk about it, answer questions,… all in front of a jury. I was very very nervous for that but they said it was okay! *happy dance*. Tonight, after 6 p.m. I’ll get my results, but I already know that I passed. Which means that I am graduated! I have got my bachelors degree and I can start working now. End of august, I can start an interim job at the place I did my internship. My mentor recommended me, which makes me very happy.
So this was the big news: I graduated ánd I have my first job! I’m very excited. Also, I will try to blog more from now on.

Last year I went to Lisbon, Portugal with my sister. It’s been a year so I’m not going to blog about it, but I can recommend you some things and I’ll also post a picture. We made to daytrips during our stay in Lisbon: we went to Sintra and to Cascais. Sintra was really beautiful and you should definitely go and see it. You can go by train form Lisbon and it’s only about an hour on that train. Very easy and not expensive! Sintra was more cultural and Cascais was more of a rest: great beach. We wanted to go to a beach or swimming pool since it was so hot there, and they recommended Cascais. We also wanted to visit Belem, but didn’t have the time since we were only about 6 days in Lisbon. Anyway, I would definitely recommend it!

This year, I’m going to Scotland for two weeks. I’m very excited! And I’ll blog you when I’m back.

What have you guys been upto?

Istanbul – shoplog !

It’s been a week since I posted something, I know. Very sorry! I’ve got two weeks vacation now (well, the first week is already over) and you’d think I’ve got more time to blog. Well, the opposite is true. I’ve been so busy!

But, as I promised: I’m making a shoplog from Istanbul. I’m very excited since I think I bought some awesome stuff. So here it is 😀

I’ll start with my favorites:

I paid 18 TL (which is about €9) for both. I’m really in love with them ^-^

Next is my scarf. I fell in love with it immediately. Love the colors so much! It’s brown with some kind of goldish/mustard yellow. This cousts 8 TL (€4).

Next, I’ll show you a souvenir I bought for my brother. I bought the same for my father, but in a different color. This blue eye, you see everywhere. It says to keep away the evil. First thing my brother did when I told him this, was pushing it in my face. Very funny… Hehe.
It was 5 TL (about €2,5) for two.

Next, is this apple tea. So delicious! Doesn’t taste like tea though, more like warm applejuice. But still, it’s soooo nice! You can get it pretty much everywhere in Istanbul. I can’t remember how much I paid for it, but it wasn’t much.

Also, I bought some earrings for my sister, a scarf for my mother, another keyring with the blue eye for my boyfriend and some Turkish Delight. I haven’t got any pictures of those unfortunately.

Tell me, what do you think? And do you like apple tea and/or Turkish Delight?

xoxo Celine.

Istanbul (5)

Hi !

Today I started with my scrapbook about Istanbul. I was so caught up in it, I almost forgot blogging about my last day! But, here it is.

The last day, was a ‘a bit of everything’-day. We visited the Grand Bazaar again, did some walking and bought many things (since they pay in Turkish Liras, that money needed to go hehe).

We made a last group-photo with a Belgian magazine ‘Flair’. You can send it to them and maybe they’ll post it in  one of the next editions.

Then, back to the airport. I felt sick to be honest, so I wasn’t so happy going on the plane. But after about a half an hour in the air, I felt already much better. Around 12 p.m. I could finally go back in my own bed. It was so amazing!

I’ll soon post a ‘shoplog’ from Istanbul. But it won’t be with clothing though! It will be about my souvernirs 😉

Oh by the way, the weather was the best on this last day! Very warm.

See you next time!

xoxo Celine.

Istanbul (4)

It’s a bit later than the other days, but that’s because I’ve been babysitting since 7 a.m.
But here it is: a post about my 4th day in Istanbul last week! On this day, we visited the more historical part of Istanbul. To start off, we went to see the ‘Blue Mosquee’. Incredible building I must say! So beautiful on the inside aswell. I tried to capture it on photograph, but I think you have to see it to really see it. If you know what I mean. Ofcourse, it was very crowded with tourists. That’s a pity I think. But on the other hand, I was also a tourist 😉

Next, we visited the Obelisk. It was nice, but not overly special I’d say.

After that, we went back to the Aya Sophia, which was close to our hotel. We didn’t go inside, but we did stay at the fountain in front of the Aya Sophia. Since it was a nice warm day, it was very cosy there.

Then we walked around a bit and went to dinner. We sat outside, in the sun… Aahh, that was nice!
To end, we visited the water reservoirs. It was a bit underground and dark with some lights. Very beautiful! We could also see fish swimming there. And theg played some calming music. Very nice place.

Actually, that wasn’t the end. We also visited the ‘Grand Bazaar’. That was something! Really special atmosphere. Couldn’t work there all day though. And to really end this day, again, we went out a bit. It was our last night out in Istanbul so we ordered a ‘fishbowl’ of ‘sex on the beach’. Also we danced (gangnam style and stuff 😉 ) It was a fantastic day!

Tomorrow I’ll tell you more about my last day in Istanbul last week. Stay tuned!

xoxo Celine.
